I noticed you decided to go with the Schluter membrane under your tiles. Just curious how you found working with this product and why you chose to go with it?
I've looked into using the membrane in our bathroom reno but found it very expensive! Did you pick this up at Home Depot?
We went with Ditra for a few reasons... In our last place we tiled directly over plywood and not long after we noticed the tiles starting to shift and move. I am pretty sure concrete board or diamond lath base would provide the same properties but that can be another 1/2 inch of material that we didn't want so we went with Ditra. I really like Ditra as a base for laying tile, I like the consistent surface to tile on. Also we got our Ditra from "The Tile Store" on Bermondsey(we love this little tile store), they don't stock it but they can order it for a lot less than big orange.
I love the kitchen tile! I also love your blog, the tips are great and the projects are very well done! I have a 70 y/o house that I am fixing up as well, so I know how it is :)
