Custom woodwork/stairs takes a lot of time, but we're really starting to see the pay off. We trimmed out the half newel and started staining it (it's a 2x4 with oak cladding). This is just after the first coat of stain, but it seems like it will look quite good.
We also finally got all the stairs stained! No more skipping other stairs, we can go up and down like normal people again. *woo*
